How does treatment abroad work with Saleem?

Every Saleem case goes through the same four phases.

  1. Your request and intro call. You tell us what is going on. Your case manager calls you, then sends your search fee link.
  2. Your reports, reviewed by a doctor. You share your reports and scans, and a Saleem doctor reviews them.
  3. Hospital quotes, checked. With your written approval, partner hospitals quote in Bahraini dinars. We go through every line with you, and you decide whether to go ahead.
  4. Treatment, travel and follow-up. If you go ahead, we help with the visa, flights, stay and an interpreter, then check in once you are home.

Which countries can I be treated in?

Saleem has signed agreements with partners in Thailand, South Korea, India, Jordan, Turkey and the United Kingdom, and works with hospitals in Bahrain.

What do I need to send you?

Recent reports and scans, and later your passport details if you travel. Whatever you have is a good start, and your case manager tells you what is missing. You upload documents to your account, and a hospital sees them after you approve it in writing.

Can a family member travel with me?

Yes. Tell your case manager who is coming so that stay and travel are planned for everyone, and check what your quote covers for a companion.

Does Saleem choose the hospital for me?

No. Your case manager sends your case to partner hospitals with your approval, and you decide after you see the itemised quotes. Clinical decisions are made by licensed physicians, not by Saleem.

What happens when I am back in Bahrain?

We help you get your reports translated, and your case manager checks in on your recovery. You can also book a video appointment with a doctor in Bahrain for follow-up questions.

Fees and quotes

What is the BD 20 search fee?

After your intro call, you pay a BD 20 search fee. It covers a Saleem doctor's review of your reports, the hospital search with itemised quotes explained, and a case manager until you are home. The search fee terms set out the details.

Is the search fee credited to my treatment?

Yes. If you go ahead with treatment, the BD 20 is credited to your treatment cost, and your itemised quote shows it as a credit.

When is the search fee refunded?

If Saleem cannot give you a proper quote within 3 to 4 weeks of receiving your reports, the fee is refunded. The details are in the search fee terms.

What does an itemised quote show?

An itemised quote lists each part of the price in Bahraini dinars, including what is and is not included. A Saleem doctor reviews every quote before it reaches you, and the figures come from the hospital. Each quote is valid for 2 weeks.

Where the site shows an estimate, it gives a range from at least five recent quotes and says that your itemised quote is final.

Who do I pay for the treatment?

Your itemised quote says what you pay, who you pay and when. The Saleem search fee is separate, and it is credited to your treatment cost.

Video appointments

How do I book a video appointment?

Browse the doctors, choose one, pick a free time slot, add your details and any files, and pay online. Your appointment then appears in your account, where you can join by video.

Browse doctors

Which doctors can I see, and in which languages?

Each doctor's page shows their specialty, hospital and languages, and, where it applies, that they are NHRA-licensed. You can search by specialty.

How much does a video appointment cost?

Each doctor's page shows the fee per video appointment in Bahraini dinars before you book.

Can I share my reports with the doctor before the appointment?

Yes. You can add files when you book, and your medical history can be shared with the doctor before the appointment.

Does Saleem AI give medical advice?

No. Saleem AI does not give medical advice. Our doctors do. It can help you start a treatment request or find a doctor.

Privacy and your data

Who sees my reports?

Our medical team reads them. A hospital receives them after you agree in writing, and hospitals you have not approved do not see them.

Do you share my health information with advertising platforms?

No. We do not send health information, such as treatments, conditions, specialties or doctor names, to advertising platforms. Cookies that measure visits or ads stay off until you choose.

Cookie details

Where is my data stored?

On secure servers, encrypted in transit and at rest. Your reports go abroad only to a hospital you approve, in its country. The privacy policy has the details.

Can I see and download my information?

In your account you can see your documents and download your medical history at any time.

Which law protects my personal data?

Bahrain's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 30 of 2018). Our privacy policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it and your rights.
