Travelling from Bahrain

Visa for Bahraini passports

Bahraini passport holders can enter Jordan without a visa and receive a stay of up to 3 months, stamped in the passport on arrival. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months.

Medical visa

Bahraini patients do not need a medical visa, because they enter Jordan visa free with a stay of up to 3 months. If treatment runs longer, the stay can be extended through the Residence and Borders Department in Amman.

Flights from Bahrain

Gulf Air and Royal Jordanian fly direct from Bahrain to Amman (Queen Alia International Airport). The flight takes about 2 hours 30 minutes. Check the current schedule with the airline before booking.

Time difference

Jordan uses the same time as Bahrain (UTC+3) all year. Jordan stopped changing its clocks in 2022, so there is no daylight saving change.

Language

Arabic is the official language. English is widely spoken and is commonly used by staff in hospitals that receive international patients.

Currency

The currency is the Jordanian dinar (JOD), which has been pegged to the US dollar since 1995 at about 0.709 dinar per dollar.

Good to know

Jordan is a Muslim majority country and halal food is the norm in restaurants and hospitals. Amman is built on hills, so summer days are hot and dry while evenings are noticeably cooler.

Checked 4 October 2026. Rules change: your case manager confirms visa requirements for your passport before anything is booked.
